this is a rare Universal Geneve Polerouter, reference 20357-2, from 1959 in allover unmolested condition, featuring the interesting „hidden swiss – effect“.
the 34mm, Gerald Genta designed, steel watch comes with a beautiful circular brushed dial with crossed hairlines and all the original lumeplots still being intact. At first glance, one would think that the usual Swiss-signature at 6 o’clock is missing, but it is there. Hidden under the original inner bezel, as one of our images below proofs. This effect is only seen by some very few Polerouter references from the 1950s. The watch is also displayed exactly like this in the famous Polerouter book and on universalgenevepolerouter.com
Our example is absolutely unpolished and shows all the original chamfers on the twisted lugs, as well as the engraved numbers on the caseback. All parts about it, like the U signed Plexi, the crown and all the lume in hands and on dial are the original ones. The UG microtor caliber 215 has just received a fresh service by the former owner and runs exactly like it should. This beautiful collectors piece comes on a lightbrown leatherstrap.
