This is a sensational Universal Geneve Tricompax, ref. 881101/01, from 1964, coming in mint condition and as a full set. The Tricompax with Panda dial wears the nickname „Clapton“, after it´s iconic owner, guitar-superstar Eric Clapton. (footage with him wearing the watch can be found over the internet). This piece here is one of the very best examples we have seen so far.
It features a flawless panda-dial with all original tritiumdots still appearing in a beautiful vanillatone. The tritium of the hands is matching that colour. Bezel, crown and pushers are the original ones. The plexi might be a service part. The superfat 36mm case clearly shows both numbers on the caseback. The 281 UG caliber was checked through and is running strong and exact in all functions. The Tricompax comes with an original UG/Gay Freres steelbracelet in full length and even additional extralinks (claspcode 67). This stunning set even features it´s original box, the worldservice booklet, a tricompax hangtag and the original warranty booklett, that states that it was sold in 64 in Riccione, Italy. Of course the numbers in the papers are matching the ones on the caseback. This set is a true collectors dream and in this condition as rare as it can get.
