This is a Rolex daytona 6265/8 in 18k yellowgold from 1987. Collectors are aware of the rare appearance of golden handwound plexi daytonas to the market, as they only have been produced in very small numbers back in the days. Our piece comes with a beautiful matte black dial in great condition. The black part of the dial is absolutely flawless with all original tritium dots being there in full size, except the 6 o´clock index which is appearing in half of the original size. Only dials of golden plexi-daytonas feature the “Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified” lines, and these ones here are, as well as the word „Cosmograph“ in best possible condition. The 6265 is powered by a Valjoux 727 movement which has been checked through and is running exactly and strong in all functions. the 18k goldcase shows all hallmarks under the lungs, and unpolished serial (R328xxx) and reference numbers between them. This daytona comes with every original part that it always has been equipped with, like pushers, crown, plexi and the original 7205 riveted Oyster bracelet with 71 end-links, that will fit wrists up to range of 18cm size. The watch was in posession of the former owner for decades and hasn´t appeared on the open market so far. This is a rare daytona for a collector who is looking for an honest and valuable addition to his collection.
