Longines 5483 "Sei Tacche"
not in stock

this is an overwhelmingly beautiful 35mm longines steelwatch with salmon dial from the 1940s. According to Longines, the rare 5483 „sei tacche“ case (six notches) must have received a movement, dial and handset from another longines watch from the 1940s in a service many years ago, as they weren´t born in this case. This fact is seen quite often about watches from that timeperiod, depending on the very tough times of the war- and postwar-era. Things simply had to be rebuilt in a way that they are working again. An unmolested reference 5483 is a very rare appearance and has allready reached a crazy result in a phillips auction in 2018 (klick). Our example has a beautiful 5483 and 83 signed caseback and the correct unpolished case, which shows the 83 engraved on the lug as well. crown and domed plexi are the original ones. the 12L handwound longines movement has been serviced recently and runs very well. the salmon to beige colored no lume dial with blued hands has an absolute stunning look in sunlight. This is a watch for someone who is looking for a nice project or for someone who simply want´s to wear a beautiful vintage longines with an important and valuable „sei tacche“case without beeing keen on the original radium dial. you can choose between a grey or blue nato, or a silver milanese bracelet
