This is a very rare IWC „Pre-Golf-Club“, so the reference 1830, but still without the wording Golf-Club on it. Those beautifully balanced dials have only been produced for a very short period, before IWC changed them. Also the serialnumber is engraved on the outside of the caseback instead of the inside as it is usual for the later 1830 executions.
The grandmaster of watchdesign, Gerald Genta, did not only sketch the pp nautilus, the ap royal oak, or the iwc ingenieur. He was also responsible for the three references of the IWC „club series“ in the mid 1970s, amongst them this 1830 Pre-Golf-Club.
The watch features a beautiful fat 35 x 41mm steelcase and a flawless black dial with original tritium in indicies and hands. The tritium in the handset has been fixed from the backside by our watchmaker, so it cannot come off anymore. all parts about the watchhead are the originals and it´s iwc automatic caliber 8541B has been regulated and checked through and runs exactly. it comes on a vintage lizzard leatherband or a handmade brown leatherband upon your choice (see photo).
