Gerald Genta, the grandmaster of watchdesign did not only sketch the pp nautilus, the ap royal oak or the iwc ingenieur. he was also the designer of this iwc polo club sl (ref. 1831), which only appears very rarely on the market, especially if it comes with a black dial and as a fullset. Less than 200 pieces of the Polo Club SL with black dial have been produced back then in 1975 and 1976, the only years of production. Our example is in near nos and all original condition, sidekicked by the original box, papers and two extra links which would extend the bracelet for wrists up to a size of 19cm. and then there is this letter from the original german owner, that explains he has received it in 1983 from his parents, who were the owners of a watch and jewellery shop in that time. what a collectors set !! the steelcase has a size of perfect 38mm plus crown, and the bracelet is one of the coolest G. genta ever has designed. you will only find it on this reference. the beautiful automatic caliber 8541b was also used for the Jumbo Ingenieurs and is working great with no need for service currently. A rare fullset of genta designed steelwatch in best possible condition.
