this is a very rare iwc ingenieur sl 1832 automatic from 1978, coming with an extract of the iwc archives. the 40mm jumbo ingenieur is part of „genta´s big three“, amongst the worldfamous brothers patek philippe nautilus 3700 and the ap royal oak 5402. recordings by iwc say that only 534 pieces have ever been produced of the automatic version. the stainless steel case of this diver has never been polished before, all parts, like the fish-logo signed crown, the bezel with 5 asymmetric drills or the black date wheel are full original. the beautiful waffle pattern dial is unmolested and carrying the original tritium lume, showing some very slight patina on the edges of the single waffle-squares, and only in certain angles. the original handset is filled with colormatching tritium as well. the iwc caliber 8541 is running exactly and strong and is not in the need for a service soon. this rare and iconic watch of the 70s comes with an extract of the iwc archives.
