this is an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak from the early 1980s in steel and yellowgold. The AP Quartz caliber powered reference 56023SA, with a 35,5 cm case has never been polished before and features an overwhelmingly beautiful gold-patina effect in rainbow colors on it´s indicies. The effect appears stronger when the watch is displayed outside of direct sunlight. When you move the watch, the colors on the indicies are switching to different shades of purple, green and blue. An absolutely outstanding effect which we have only seen very rarely in some early Royal Oaks.
All parts about this watch, like crown, hands, caliber and the flawless „swiss-only“ signed dial with old Audemars Piguet font are the original ones. All the chamfers and edges on this piece are still supersharp, just like they were when it left the factory back then. Of course it was worn over the years and shows several scratches on the whole watch. It has just received a new battery by our watchmaker and runs perfectly as it should. The Royal Oak currently fit´s wrists up to 18 cm circumfernce and smaller. The last bracelet link before the clasp is a steel one instead of a steel-golden one, but we have decided to leave it in, so the watch will also fit larger wrists. The bracelet is still in a sharp and supertight condition with no stretch.
