this is a very rare and extraordinary Universal Geneve Polerouter „NS“ from 1965. Up to today it´s not clear what the letters NS in quotation marks stand for. One rumor says they stand for „Non Stop“ derived from a new long range SAS flight in 1964, that was able to fly the polar route from copenhagen to los angels without any groundstops.
The execution with matte black dial and round indicies is the most interesting and an early one of the Polerouter NS, which only had a very short production period. Our watch features an unpolished case, a flawless dial with red hairlines, the original handset and the U signed crown. It´s UG microtor caliber 69 is running very well not being in the need for a service currently. The Polerouter comes on beautiful vintage leatherband with old buckle. This piece is still one of the less known UG´s that are still affordable, but convince with an overwhelmingly beautiful design, like only Universal Geneve from the mid to end 1960s could deliver it.
