The DJ reference 1600 with it´s plane bezel is a very sought after model in general. But if it comes with a much more rare and even flawless black piepan dial it´s the grail of rolex dresswatches for some collectors. Our example from 1971 has still a very fat 36mm (+crown) case with clearly readable and unpolished numbers between the lugs. The automatic-movement has received a full revision one year ago and won´t cause any issues for decades. The dial, well that dial, it is just overwhelming with all tritium dots still appearing in full size and an also flawless handset with tritium matching in color. And then there is the little extra about this watch, as the former owner had installed a rare domed T116 without loupe on this 1600 which makes it even more beautiful and adorable. This Datejust will come on it´s original folded Rolex Jubileebracelet.
